Creating a public-space installation for The Gladstone’s annual alternative design event, Come Up to My Room was exciting because of the wide accessibility of the show to the public. For this show, Jen designed and constructed a series of miniature paper fire escapes. The fire escapes were laser-cut and meticulously hand-constructed. The installation asked the viewers to consider their relationship to escape within the urban environment and how they experience escape in their lives. The installation won a Designlines Loves award for the top 100 products or things showcased during design week.
